Fall Out boy

Fall Out Boy was formed in 2001 in Wilmette, Illinois. The quartet consists of Patrick Stump on vocals, Pete Wentz on bass, Joe Trohman on guitar, and Andy Hurley on drums. The guys were influenced by their favorite rock bands - Green Day, Descendents and The Smiths.

When they were just starting, the band was nameless. But after a couple of shows, they asked the audience for some ideas, and one yelled Fallout Boy, which is a cartoon character from The Simpsons.

Before landing a major record deal, the group released a mini-LP entitled ‘Fall Out Boy’s Evening Out With Your Girlfriend’ and a full-length album ‘Take This To Your Grace’. But it was in 2005 that they got their big break under Island Records. Their album ‘From Under The Cork Tree’ reached double platinum in the U.S. Its first single “Sugar We’re Going Down” became a huge hit, which led to a nomination for Best New Artist during the 2006 Grammy Awards. Their follow up single “Dance Dance” also received positive reviews and entered the Modern Rock Charts.

Infinity on High was released in 2007, and the lead single “It Aint a Scene It’s an Arms Race” peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 200. The second single off the album, “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs” also entered the chart in no time. Months after, they released their third single titled The Take Over, The Breaks Over.

Even if the band is known for their rock sound, they showed their versatility as musicians with their collaborations with rapper Kanye West, T.I. and Timbaland. Another artist that they worked with was John Mayer who was their guest guitarist for their cover of Michael Jackson’s 80s hit Beat It.
